Alumni Engagement
“We pride ourselves on having a family environment at MYAC. That’s what makes us different from others. Consider our mission “to build a home” (not a place, a home, like a family lives in) “with the power of music (using music as our focal point to bring us together with a common purpose, like a family) to enrich the lives of our students and their families” (again, focus on using this musical power and joint purpose to build a home to make our families stronger.).
Just like a family, when someone graduates to a different part of their lives, we try to maintain a relationship with our alumni to be there for them and serve them as they work their way through life.” - Allan Dennis
We support MYAC Alumni with the following activities:
Waived tuition for alumni to participate in MYAC large ensembles, including summer large ensembles, after their graduation (e. g. Orchestras, Jazz Bands, VocalPoint) ·
Alumni Concerts: December 26 & 27, and occasionally a summer concert
MYAC Alumni Facebook page
Tours: for instruments needed on tours, we invite alumni as chaperones
Referrals for open positions in the industry: We keep a list of open positions and do our best to advise/counsel alumni in finding opportunities.
Priority in hiring MYAC alumni for staff positions.
Priority in selection as guest artists for master classes and as guest soloists.
