Organization Overview
Midwest Young Artists Conservatory (MYAC) is the largest youth music ensemble program in the midwest
Founded in 1993 by Dr. Allan Dennis
MYAC serves nearly 1,000 young musicians of all ages and levels from 84 cities throughout Chicagoland and beyond
6 orchestras
40+ chamber music ensembles
3 jazz big bands and combos
3 vocal ensembles
Music theory and composition classes, early childhood music classes, and summer music camps
Host of the Walgreens National Concerto Competition and the Chicago National Chamber Music Competition
Hosts 3 instrumental festivals and numerous master classes that are open to the public
MYAC is a musical home where students learn and grow with their peers in a challenging yet fun and nurturing atmosphere. MYAC is dedicated to ensuring that each student reaches their highest potential as both an artist and an individual. They work to not only build strong musical skills, but strong life values of self-confidence, teamwork, character, and social responsibility. Students perform several major concerts each year in prestigious Chicago-area venues, and even tour abroad. As a national leader in youth music education, MYAC graduates are frequently accepted at the most selective conservatories and colleges worldwide.
