Rhona Reagen has been on faculty at MYA since its inception in 1992. Rhona earned a BM summa cum laude and an MS with distinction from De Paul University. She is a former director of the Elmhurst College Suzuki Program and the Elmhurst College Music Therapy Clinic. Rhona is also a former faculty member of National Louis University. In 2008, Rhona was chosen as the ASTA studio teacher of the year by her colleagues. This past summer she was in the first class of teachers certified in the O’Connor String Method. Currently, she maintains an active private Suzuki studio in Skokie and serves as workshop clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of Illinois. She is also a sectional and chamber music coach in Niles Township District 219. Rhona has been a member of the MYA Board of Directors since its inception and is currently serving on the Executive Board.

Rhona has been fortunate to have had several excellent mentors including Dr. Allan Dennis, Dr. Milton Goldberg, Betty Haag, Dr. Thomas Brown, Thaddeus Kozuch, Terry Spina, Julian Leviton, Rebecca Sandrok, and Gwen Furbee Ying.
