Ensemble Dal Niente is a Chicago-based contemporary music collective that presents and performs new music in ways that redefine the listening experience and advance the art form.
Dal Niente is making its performing debut at one of the nation’s leading organizations for music education, Midwest Young Artists Conservatory. Matthew Oliphant, Dal Niente horn player and a member of the MYAC chamber music faculty, will join Winston Choi and MingHuan Xu (Duo Diorama) for this exciting program that features the trio for horn, violin, and piano by György Ligeti. This seminal work of 20th century chamber music takes its instrumentation and inspiration from the horn trio of Brahms. The program pairs the Ligeti and Brahms trios with other selections for violin and piano.
Johannes Brahms: Trio in E-flat major, op. 40 (1865) for violin, horn, and piano
György Ligeti: Trio (1982) for violin, horn, and piano
