Pianist Matthew Gemmill holds degrees in piano performance from Wheaton College and collaborative piano from the University of Michigan, where he worked with Martin Katz. Other principal teachers include Daniel Paul Horn, Chiu-Ling Lin, and Katherine Collier. As an opera coach, Mr. Gemmill has assisted in productions at the University of Michigan Opera Theatre and the Arbor Opera Theater, and he currently works as an independent vocal coach, accompanist, and music teacher in the Chicago area. He resides in Wheaton, Illinois.
