Faculty & Friends Concert Series
Sunday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m.

Over the last two years, the N-E-W Trio has emerged as one of the nation’s most promising young ensembles after winning grand prize at the 2008 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, grand prize at the 2007 Coleman National Chamber Music Competition, and first prize at the 2007 Plowman National Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri. In addition to performing throughout the United States, the N-E-W trio has been presented by the Juilliard School-Chamber Music series at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and Bösendorfer New York. In April of 2007, the ensemble was honored to perform at the memorial for famed political historian Arthur Schlesinger at the Cooper Union’s Great Hall in New York City, where speakers such as Lauren Bacall, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, and former United States President Bill Clinton spoke.
